Gadwall
Occurred the most disproportionately in hexagons with annual
precipitation of 218-359 mm and any extent of wetlands and wet
shrubland. In somewhat drier areas (annual precipitation of 359-681
mm), it occurred mostly in hexagons with either (a) more than 4%
wetlands and wet shrubland, or (b) less wetlands and wet shrubland but
with more than 2% agricultural lands, or (least likely), or (c) no
wetlands and wet shrubland but with a moderate area of towns and
cities. In the driest part of its Oregon range, it occurred mostly in
relatively flat hexagons and those with June precipitation (hex. med.)
of 36-41 mm. The logistic regression analysis showed positive or
negative association with wetlands and wet shrubland, sagebrush
steppe, number of land cover types, subalpine fir - lodgepole pine
montane conifer, April precipitation (hex. med.), the extent of public
land , and-to a lesser degree-elevation (hex. avg.), June maximum
temperature (hex. med.), and June precipitation (hex. min.).
